Specialty Tea

It is not an uncommon fact that though Assam has been a land of tea gardens, the tea most people of Assam, and quite frankly, India as a whole, is familiar with is black tea. But times are becoming more challenging, and with it the markets are getting more competitive. Newer varieties of tea are making the rounds in the markets in India. People are getting more and more informed about varied tea types. In recent years, the tea market in India has seen a rising demand for specialty tea. Specialty Tea refers to the high-quality loose-leafed tea, made with significant care, mostly in single estates. People and connoisseurs alike want to experiment with specialty tea, white tea, oolong tea, green tea, and yellow tea. Blends will always be popular, no doubt. But small-estate teas with distinctive flavours are seeing a rising shot of popularity. This also means that the need for the production of such teas is widely escalating.
